MILANO, TORINO and PIEMONTE
28 OCTOBER - 6 NOVEMBER 2020
Join us in Northern Italy to visit some of the extraordinary fairs, foundations and collections making such an impact on the area. After a few days in Milano, visiting collections such as the fabulous Fondazione Prada and Varese's highly acclaimed Panza di Biumo Collection, we will move to Torino, where the galleries, artists, and foundations have received great acclaim in recent years. We will be there during the time of Torino’s Artissima Art Fair, which has enjoyed great international popularity ever since its foundation 16 years ago. We will enjoy VIP previews to the fair, discussions with the fair's organizers, visits to artists studios, many special gallery exhibitions and enjoy private receptions with art world friends - not to mention Michelin-starred meals in restaurants decorated by contemporary artists like Michelangelo Pistoletto, John Baldessari, and Francesco Clemente! Our group will discover much of Torino’s unique and distinctive culture and visit during a time of year that has pristine fall weather. In addition to the fair, we will see the famous Egyptian Museum, tour the historic city, and explore many newly redesigned buildings now housing galleries and art sites – especially seen at the former Fiat factory-turned-museum housing the collection of the Agnelli Family, the Pinacoteca designed by Renzo Piano. We will enjoy a tour and private viewings at the extraordinary Castello di Rivoli and Villa Cerutti, visit the Collezione La Gaia, as well as the breathtaking Sandretto Foundation and Collection. We will spend time in the countryside, escaping the activity of the fair for time in Alba, the heart of truffle country. The Cerretto family will welcome us in their winery and offer a tour of the art installations throughout – including a chapel by Sol Lewitt and David Tremlett. This area of Italy has had a renaissance in years past, and we are glad to invite you to come discover its charm, its luxury, its delicious food and wine, and its excellent art! This trip will be lead by author and curator Marc Pottier, as well as Laura Worth of Art & Travel.
